PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission operating device causing no movement of a vehicle upon switching from a normal mode to a drive assist mode. SOLUTION: The automatic transmission operating device 1 switches between the normal mode for changing the range of an automatic transmission AT by a shift lever 20, and the drive assist mode for changing the range of the automatic transmission AT by a wire operated actuator 60, by movement of the shift lever 20. A moving path (second path part 73) of the shift lever 20 upon changing from the normal mode to the drive assist mode is continued with a moving path (first path part 72) of the shift lever 20 in the normal mode in a parking range P.
