PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inexpensively treating liquid waste of Japanese spirits. SOLUTION: The method for treating liquid waste of Japanese spirits includes: a dilution step of charging water of the amount equal to or larger than that of liquid waste of Japanese spirits in the liquid waste of Japanese spirits to produce diluted liquid waste; and a filtration step of filtering the diluted liquid waste. The method is characterized in that; the filtrate separated at the filtration step is used as the water to be charged in the liquid waste of Japanese spirits at the dilution step; the method has, before the filtration step, a pH adjustment step of adding a cationic agent and a pH adjusting agent to the diluted liquid waste; and the method has, after the filtration step, a fermentation step of adding organic matter to the solid separated at the filtration step and fermenting the organic matter-added solid.
