Indirect liquid application involves applying a medium on a transfer element. The medium is transferred in a press gap (7) at a side of a fibrous material web (2), which runs through the press gap. The fibrous material web is supported in an area between last drying cylinder (3.1) of the predrier assembly (3) and press gap of a former endless belt. The fibrous material web is pressed between the two endless belts, which are opposite to each other. An independent claim is also included for a device for execution of the method, which comprises two endless belts for supporting a fibrous material web.
