The sensor has sensing electrodes arranged on outer surfaces of a printed circuit (24) so as to form two capacitors with corresponding outer electrodes. The capacitors have capacities varying in an antagonist manner such that a differential measure of the capacities is a representative of relative displacement between the sensing electrodes and the outer electrodes. The circuit has guard electrodes (36, 49) surrounding the sensing electrodes. An independent claim is also included for a housing provided with a capacitive displacement sensor.
