PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for driving a display device, capable of reducing variation in a holding electric potential of a data line, without adding new circuits and independently of the display pattern. SOLUTION: In the device for driving the display device, a single scanning period is divided into a P period and a subsequent D period. In the P period, a precharge voltage equal to the intrinsic data voltage is applied to the data lines within one block by time sharing, and the intrinsic data voltage is again applied in the subsequent D period. Thus, by noting one data line, the same data voltage results in being applied twice, within one scanning period. Accordingly, the difference between the precharge voltage and the intrinsic data voltage is equalized, and the variation in the holding electric potential is eliminated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
