PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily arrange a plurality of light sources, and to decrease dispersion angle of light. SOLUTION: A rod integrator 12 comprises a light guide member 12A, having an entrance face 12a and a main rod member 12B having an exit face 12b. The light guide member 12A has two entrance faces 12a, 12a as the entrance face 12a. Furthermore, the light guide member 12A has intermediate exit faces 12f that are parallel or non-parallel to the respective entrance faces 12a. The main rod member 12B has a plurality of light penetrating faces 12c, 12c, crossing at an acute angle with the side face of the main rod member. A low refractive index region X is present between the intermediate exit faces 12f and the light-penetrating faces 12c, and each light penetrating face 12c acts as a total reflection face for the light propagating in the main rod member 12B.
