A swimfeeder 20 with an elongate body 22 which comprising a base structure 34 with upstanding walls which define a chamber 24 for bait. The base structure 34 further comprises an external surface (36a, 38a fig 8) at the lowermost portion and a holding surface (40, 42, 44, 46, fig 8), inwardly disposed with respect to the external surface (36a, 38a fig 8), onto which a weight (70 fig 4) is secured, a substantial portion of whose weight is located inwardly of the external surface (36a, 38a fig 8). The weight (70 fig 4) may be located such that, along with the external surface (36a, 38a fig 8), it forms a substantially flat bottom to the swimfeeder 20. Additionally the weight (70 fig 4) may taper outwardly from one end to the other, with one end possibly being locally thickened. It may be held in place with a fixing pin (50 fig 9a) which has been permanently distorted during manufacture, such that the weight (70 fig 4) and one end of the body forms a smoothly curved surface. |
