A blank for a container for a food product, such as a sandwich, is formed from card or other foldable material. The blank consists of a generally rectangular back wall 4, the two longer sides 6, 6' of which are joined by a hinged fold to at least part of respective side walls 10, 10'. The blank further consists of a generally rectangular base 12, and is able to form an assembled container which is generally triangular prism-shaped. The blank further possesses integral hinge means in the form of a foldable web 14 located between two adjacent walls of the blank. Frangible means 5 for providing a frangible connection between a part 14a of the foldable web 14 and a wall 10' of the blank are also provided. Preferably the frangiable means 5 consists of a readily rupturable attachment between one section of the foldable web 14 and a side wall of the container. The blank may have a window portion. The construction of the foldable web is said to improve the tamper resistance of the container. |
