PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level sensor capable of detecting a liquid level exactly without allowing any lubricant such as oil being not exchanged or the like to attach to a substrate, even in the case the quantity of a liquid in an oil pan is varied sharply due to exchanging lubricant such as oil or the like. SOLUTION: The liquid level sensor comprises: a case having an aperture at its one end into which the lubricant such as the oil or the like intrudes; and the substrate 11 which is disposed in the case and has a first electrode 13 and a second electrode on its surface so as to keep an approximately constant spacing between them.
