PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly reduce the height of a light source part in a vertical scanning direction even in an obliquely incident optical system, and to make an optical scan of sufficiently high picture quality at a low cost with a small number of components. SOLUTION: Light beams L emitted by a plurality of light sources 11a to 11d are made incident on the same deflecting surface of an optical deflector 15 at angles in a vertical scanning cross section. Coupling lenses 12a to 12d are provided corresponding to the respective light sources 11a to 11d respectively, a cylindrical lens 14 is used in common by the light beams L emitted by the respective light sources 11a to 11d, and the plurality of light beams L incident on the cylindrical lens 14 in common are made incident at different positions from other light beams in the vertical scanning cross section and horizontal scanning cross section of the cylindrical lens 14.
