BROADBAND FIXED WIRELESS ACCESS(BFWA) USER EQUIPMENT USING A PHYSICAL LAYER AUTOMATIC REPEAT REQUEST MECHANISM

摘要

Broadband fixed wireless access user equipment using a physical layer automatic repeat request mechanism is provided to reduce transmission overhead of a higher layer automatic repeat request. A physical layer receiver demodulates packets, in which each packet has particular encoding/data modulation. The particular encoding/data modulation utilizes broadband fixed wireless access modulation scheme and forward error correction coding. An automatic repeat request combiner/decoder buffers, decodes and detects packet errors. An acknowledgment transmitter(16c) transmits acknowledgement for each packet if that packet has an acceptable error rate.
