Device and method for manufacturing profiles

The method involves rolling a surface finished sheet metal strip (1) applied with protection layer (2). The protection layer, arranged on the metal strip, is partly cut in the predetermined areas. The cutting of the protection layer is carried out with a cutting line, which moves perpendicularly on the surface of the metal strip. The cutting line runs partly inclined to a transport device of the metal strip. The metal strip is rolled to a profile strand. An independent claim is also included for a profile system with a line arranged roll pair.
