<p>Methods are provided for repairing a vane assembly (100), where the vane assembly includes an inner annular housing (106), an outer annular housing (104), and a vane (102, 302) extending therebetween. In one embodiment, the method includes removing (204) an identified section (300) of the vane (302) to thereby form a pocket (308) in an inner surface (310) of the outer annular housing (104), a slot (312) through the inner annular housing (106), and an edge (316) on the vane, inserting (206) a replacement vane portion (314) with an advanced coating through the formed slot (312) such that a first edge of the replacement vane portion (314) is disposed in the pocket (308) and at least a portion of the first edge is spaced apart from at least a portion of the outer annular housing inner surface (310), and welding (208) a section of the replacement vane portion (314) to the annular inner annular housing (106). The repaired vane assembly is also provided.</p> |
