The system has a measuring device measuring measurement values (Umess) and comparing the measurement values with a reference value (URef). The measurement values are configured in such a manner that a change of load, which is supplied by a switching power supply, is detected by measuring the measurement values. A control unit determines a switch-on voltage (UGS) depending on the comparison result. The device has a voltage converter for measuring of voltage proportional to an output voltage (UOUT), where the system determines the reference value independent of a power FET. An independent claim is also included for a method for determining intermediate gate and source of a power FET.
