EDGE TYPE OF LIGHT EMITTING DIODE AND DISPLAY APPARATUS EMPLOYING THE SAME

An edge type of a light emitting diode and a display apparatus employing the same are provided to form polarized light by suppressing light in an upper part of the light emitting diode and increasing the light in an edge direction of the light emitting diode. A first semiconductor layer(103) provides electrons. A second semiconductor layer(105) provides holes. An active layer(100) is formed between the first semiconductor layer and the second semiconductor layer to receive the electrons and the holes and to cause emission of light due to a bonding reaction between the electrons and the holes. A first reflection layer(107) is formed on a lower part of the first semiconductor layer. A second reflection layer(110) is formed on an upper part of the second semiconductor layer. The light is radiated toward an edge of the active layer.
