An apparatus and a method for controlling a vehicle using a telematics terminal are provided to control the vehicle based on vehicle control information received through a wireless communication network. An apparatus for controlling a vehicle using a telematics terminal comprises a controller(19) for generating road guide information based on vehicle position data, a storage unit(21) for storing various information, a key controller(18) for controlling various key signals through an interface(16), and a main controller(17) having an LCD controller(20) for controlling a liquid crystal display(15) through the interface. The storage unit stores digital map data for providing the vehicle with road information.
