A centrifugal separator is provided to reduce detected patterns of recessed parts by sensors and to lock a lid exactly by using plural hooks interlocking with each other and hook catches. A centrifugal separator(1) is composed of: a rotating room chamber(5) dividing a rotating room; a lid(3) for closing up the rotating room; a lock mechanism(6) comprising a hook(61) locking the lid while closing up the lid and a hook catch(62) installed at the lid to catch the hook; a driving mechanism(7) having a link tool(72) connected to the hook to change a rotary motion of a driving shaft unit(71A) of a motor(71) into a reciprocating motion; and a detecting unit(8) detecting that the hook is held by the hook catch, while the lid is shut up. The detecting unit comprises a disc member(83) fixed to the driving shaft unit and provided with an outer peripheral surface formed in the shape of an uneven surface and first and second sensors(81,82) detecting recessed and protruded parts of the disc member. The driving mechanism interlocks with the rotation of the disc member. The positions of the recessed and protruded parts correspond to the positions where the hooks are caught. |
