A cooling system and a method for controlling the same are provided to employ a plurality of sensors to prevent erroneous operation of a device derived from temperature deviation of a compressor according to the position of a housing. A cooling system(10) includes a thermosiphon(700), a detection unit(730), and a control unit(800). The thermosiphon includes thermosiphon line units(710,720), thermosiphon line valve units(711,713,721,723), and normal line valve units(715,717,725,727). The thermosiphon operates the cooling system by using the difference between external and internal temperatures. The thermosiphon line units include a thermosiphon liquid line and a thermosiphon gas line.
