FINGERPRINT-INFORMATION BASED USER AUTHENTICATION METHOD AND SYSTEM

A fingerprint information based user authentication method and an authentication system thereof are provided to register a user again in hacking of fingerprint information or loss of a terminal by authenticating the user when the inputted fingerprint information is identical with the registered information at more than a predetermined ratio. A fingerprint information based user authentication method includes the steps of: inputting a user authentication request signal(S300); requesting input of a user's fingerprint(S310); extracting features of the inputted fingerprint(S320); checking whether the extracted features are identical with stored fingerprint information(S330); generating second summary information by applying a hash function to first summary information(S340); electronically signing the second summary information(S350); requesting input of an encryption code(S360); encrypting the first summary information and the electronically signed second summary information(S370); transmitting the encryption code and the encoded information to an authentication server(S380); decoding the encrypted information(S390); generating checking summary information by applying the hash function to the first summary information(S400); determining whether the second summary information is identical with the first summary information(S410); authenticating a user when the second summary information is identical with the first summary information(S420); transmitting a user authentication completion signal to a terminal(S430); and transmitting a user authentication rejection signal to the terminal when the second summary information is not identical with the first summary information(S440).
