A method for forming an ultrasound image by performing digital scan conversion in a frequency domain is provided to perform scan conversion in the frequency domain to reduce dependence on the location information of an image, thereby solving a problem that the calculation error of image data increases according to a depth of the image. A method for forming an ultrasound image comprises the following steps of: forming the spatial image data of a cylindrical coordinate system from a received signal inputted from a probe; applying an FFT(Fast Fourier Transformation) expression scan-converted in a frequency domain to the spatial image data to form image data in a frequency domain scan-converted to an orthogonal coordinate system; performing the IFFT(Inverse Fast Fourier Transformation) of the image data in the frequency domain scan-converted to the orthogonal coordinate system to form spatial image data at the orthogonal coordinate system; and forming the ultrasound image from the spatial image data at the orthogonal coordinate system. |
