A traffic control apparatus for emergency vehicles are provided to prevent traffic jam by changing traffic lights to a blue light when the emergency vehicles are close to the traffic control apparatus. A traffic control apparatus includes an emergency signal generator(111), emergency signal receivers(121a-121d), and an emergency traffic signal controller(125). The emergency signal generator mounted on emergency vehicles transmits wirelessly an emergency signal. The emergency signal receivers installed around traffic lights receive the emergency signal when the emergency vehicles are close to and generates a first signal in response to the received emergency signal. The emergency traffic signal controller installed around the emergency signal receivers receives the first signal and controls the traffic lights to pass the vehicles in response to the received first signal. |
