A complex tuner is provided to enable a tuner with low importance out of two tuners to tune a channel frequency based on a tuning frequency set to be higher or lower than an original tuning frequency as much as one step in tuning a digital broadcasting signal with the two tuners, thereby preventing interference between the two tuners. A method for a complex tuner comprises the following steps of: checking whether a control signal for selecting the same channel frequency is inputted to a first tuner unit and a second tuner unit; determining whether the importance of the second tuner unit is lower than the importance of the first tuner unit(32); setting the tuning frequency of the second tuner unit to be higher or lower than the tuning frequency of a selected channel as much as one step(33); and tuning a channel frequency selected as an original tuning frequency in the first tuning unit and tuning a channel frequency based on a tuning frequency set to be higher or lower than the original tuning frequency as much as one step(35).
