A braking power assisting method of a vehicle is provided to make braking distance short by increasing brake pressure by an electronic control brake device if an engine of the vehicle stops on the steep slope while the vehicle travels. A braking power assisting method of a vehicle comprises the steps of: calculating the braking negative pressure generated by an engine, by receiving rotational speed information of the engine(S100); collecting data including the number of braking times by a driver, braking pressure, and braking time and then computing the residual braking negative pressure remaining in a booster(S110,S120); deciding the state of an engine and judging whether a driver has an braking intension or not(S130); regulating braking power by varying the rotational speed of a motor corresponding to the degree of pressure applied to a brake pedal in braking(S150); and stopping a brake pressure forming operation if a braking finish operation is detected(S160,S170).
