An apparatus for compressing a power cable is provided to prevent a bird cage caused by swelling a power cable, with an internal unit and an external unit. An apparatus for compressing a power cable includes an internal unit(20), and an external unit(30). The internal unit is composed of at least two section members and covers an outer circumference of the power cable by combining the section members. The external unit is composed of at least two joint members to cover the outer circumference of the internal unit. The external unit compresses the internal unit with a uniform pressure to constrain a bird cage which is caused by swelling the power cable if the joint members are combined and fixed. A predetermined hole is formed on a predetermined position where the section member of the internal member corresponds to the joint member of the external unit. The section member of the internal unit and the joint member of the external unit are fixed by inserting a connection unit into the hole.
