摘要 A video display apparatus and a video display method are provided to reconfigure a target field with a new field and repeat the reconfiguration process while changing the target field to generate plural new fields and display an image, thereby preventing video blurring or video false contour. An input unit(1400) receives moving pictures. A motion vector detector(1410) detects a motion vector by using the pixel of a field as a start point and using the pixel of the other field as an end point in plural fields included into the moving pictures inputted to the input unit or fields generated from the plural fields. A sub field converter(1420) converts the moving pictures inputted to the input unit into the light emitting data of sub fields. A sub field reconfiguration unit(1440) reconfigures the light emitting data of the sub fields outputted from the sub field reconfiguration unit by operation processing by using the motion vector detected in the motion vector detector. A display unit(1450) displays an image by using the light emitting data of the sub fields outputted from the sub field reconfiguration unit. The sub field reconfiguration unit selects a motion vector by using the reconfiguration target pixel of the other field as the end point in the motion vectors detected in the motion vector detector, multiplies the motion vector by a predetermined function to calculate a position vector, and reconfigures the light emitting data of one sub field of the reconfiguration target pixel by using the light emitting data of the sub fields corresponding to the one sub field in the pixel indicated by the position vector on the basis of the reconfiguration target pixel.
