<p>An air conditioner and a method for operating the same are provided to change a desired temperature into a limitation temperature if the desired temperature is beyond the range of the limitation temperature. An indoor unit(IU) includes a communication unit(22), a first controller(23), a temperature detecting unit(26), and a second controller(21). The communication unit makes data communication with an outdoor unit(OU). The first controller controls the operation of a heat exchanger, an indoor fan, and an expansion valve. The temperature detecting unit includes a plurality of temperature sensors to measure an indoor temperature and a pipe temperature of the indoor unit. The indoor unit includes an input unit(24) and a display unit(25).</p> |
