摘要 An apparatus and a method for estimating an NI(Noise and Interference) signal in an OFDMA(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) system are provided to implement hardware simply by estimating an NI value after performing noise offset compensation only through linear combination of filter outputs of adjacent signals. An apparatus for estimating an NI signal in an OFDMA system includes a multiplier(210), a high-pass filter(230), a power calculator(250), and an NI signal calculator(290). The multiplier multiplies each of first and second pilot signals by a PN(Pseudo Noise) sequence. The first and second pilot signals have different boosting coefficients from each other. The high-pass filter performs high-pass filtering of each of the first and second pilot signals multiplied by the PN sequence. The power calculator calculates average power of each of the high-pass filtered first and second pilot signals. The NI signal calculator calculates the NI signal based on a difference between a value obtained by multiplying the average power of the first pilot signal by a first compensation coefficient and a value obtained by multiplying the average power of the second pilot signal by a second compensation coefficient.
