A method for processing a still image and a broadcast receiving apparatus applying the same are provided to enable a user to select the still image and transmit the selected still image to an external device by using a GUI window for selecting a desired still image of still images composing stored broadcasting, thereby enabling the user to use home network services conveniently. A method for processing a still image comprises the following steps of: displaying and storing received broadcasting(S215); providing a GUI(Graphical User Interface) for still image selection which enables a user to select one of still images composing the stored broadcasting; and transmitting a still image, selected by the user through the GUI for still image selection, to an external device connected by wireless(S280).
