An LED backlight apparatus is provided to install a special memory for storing calibration data of a color sensor in a color sensor module, thereby immediately performing a normal operation without a calibration work when replacing the color sensor module or a backlight control unit. An LED(Light Emitting Diode) array(13) irradiates light to an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel. A color sensor module(11) includes a color sensor(11-1) and a first memory(11-3). The color sensor outputs a sensing signal corresponding to the light emitted from the LED array. The first memory stores calibration data of the color sensor. A backlight control unit(20) includes a processor(21), an LED driver(25) and a second memory(23). The processor generates a luminous intensity control signal for controlling luminous intensity of the LED array based on the sensing signal received from the color sensor module. The LED driver drives the LED array according to the luminous intensity control signal. The second memory stores calibration data of the processor and the LED driver. The calibration data of the color sensor is stored in the first memory, and the calibration data of the processor and the LED driver are stored in the second memory after performing calibration processing. |
