METHOD FOR ARRANGING AND INPUTTING TEXT IN TERMINAL

A method for arranging and inputting characters in a terminal is provided to enable a user to input the characters easily by displaying all characters assigned to one key and arranging one character to each key in a touch screen embedded in the terminal. A first key arrangement is displayed in a touch screen for a character input mode(S403). The first key arrangement is an arrangement of basic characters. A second key arrangement arranges characters assigned to a touched key when a user touches one key of the first key arrangement(S407). The second key arrangement is the arrangement of the extended characters of the touched key of the first key arrangement. The character arranged to the touched key is inputted when the user touches one key of the second key arrangement(S411). The second key arrangement arranges the characters by checking whether the number of keys assigned to the touched key is smaller than the number of keys arranged in a line of the second key arrangement when the touched key is a consonant key, and arranging consonants assigned to the touched key from a left side of the line of the touched key when the number of characters assigned to the touched key is smaller than the number of keys arranged in the line.
