A hermetic compressor is provided to allow lower and upper ends of a journal bearing to be contacted with an elastic member and to a rotor respectively with reduced friction by interposing a first friction reduction unit between the elastic member and the lower end of the journal bearing, thereby capable of preventing abrasion and noise. A hermetic compressor comprises a rotary shaft(50), an elastic member(70), and a first friction reduction unit(80). The rotary shaft, on which a rotor is press-fitted, has an eccentric unit(51) at a lower end, of which an outer periphery between the rotor and the eccentric unit is rotatively supported by a journal bearing(60) fixed on a frame. The elastic member elastically supports between the journal bearing and the eccentric unit. The first friction reduction unit is formed at the outer periphery of the rotary shaft between a lower end of the journal bearing and the elastic member in order to reduce friction.
