DRIVING METHOD OF PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL, AND PLASMA DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method of a plasma display panel that can improve display quality of an image by reducing generation of initialization bright points right after the power is turned on, and a plasma display device. SOLUTION: A plurality of sub-fields each having an initialization period, a write period, and a sustain period are provided in one-field period such that at least one sub-field for applying a ramped waveform voltage gently rising to a scanning electrode in the initialization period is included in the one-field period. Then the plasma display panel is driven by setting the maximum voltage of the ramped waveform voltage not lower in a predetermined period after the plasma display panel begins to be driven than in a normal driving period and also setting the number of sustain pulses in each sub-field not more than a predetermined number of pulses during the period.
