#CMT# #/CMT# The device (10) has a connection unit i.e. slope-carriage (18), connecting a signaling panel (16) i.e. variable message signaling panel, to a mast (12) along a sliding connection of direction parallel to the mast. The connection unit is arranged for authorizing a displacement of the panel between a raised signaling position and a lowered maintenance position. Counterweight (24) is arranged for partially compensating weights of the panel during its displacement with respect to the mast and housed in the mast. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Signaling device for a traffic lane. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The counterweight displaces the panel with respect to the mast in an easy manner without motorization, thus ensuring simple and robust design of the device, avoiding the need of regular maintenance of the device, and ensuring reduced sealing requirement of the device. The counterweight is housed in the mast, thus permitting the counterweight to be invisible from the exterior, and hence improving aesthetic appearance of the device.
