Human SAA3 nucleic acid molecule, protein, and methods of use for same

Provided is an isolated nucleic acid molecule, said molecule encoding an SAA3 protein of a specified amino acid sequence. Also provided are isolated host cells comprising vectors containing the said nucleic acid, methods of inducing transcription of a heterologous sequence using the first 56 nucleotides of the said nucleic acid molecule and isolated polypeptides having SAA3 activity. Further provided is the use of the polypeptide in the manufacture of medicaments for the treatment or prevention of enteric infections.
