An impulse generator using a nonlinear transmission line is provided to acquire an impulse having an enough pulse width by removing the tail of the impulse. An impulse generator using a nonlinear transmission line includes a nonlinear transmission path(22), a pulse generator, a bias depending element(31), and an amplifier(32). The nonlinear transmission path has a plurality of transmission line units, which are coupled to each other in series as having a line unit and a diode. The pulse generator is coupled to a transmission side of the nonlinear transmission path. The bias depending element is coupled to a receiving side of the nonlinear transmission path. An anode of the diode is coupled to the transmission line. A cathode of the diode is coupled to a ground. One end of the bias depending element is coupled to a receiving side of the transmission line. The other end of the bias depending element is biased to a negative voltage. The amplifier is coupled to a receiving side of the transmission line.
