A backlight unit and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) having the same are provided to exclude soldering work for an existing backlight unit and components for soldering work by supplying lamp driving voltage, which is created from an inverter, directly to lamps through lamp holders made of conductive rubber. A backlight unit(104) comprises a bottom case(110), a plurality of lamps(101), a plurality of inverters(130), plural pairs of lamp holders(145), and plural pairs of contact terminals(135). Electrode parts are formed at both ends of each of the lamps. The inverters, respectively corresponding to the lamps, are installed on a PCB(Printed Circuit Board)(120) which is located at the rear side of the bottom case, and create driving voltage. Each pair of lamp holders, fixing both ends of each corresponding lamp, are electrically connected with the electrodes of each corresponding lamp. Each pair of contact terminals, corresponding to each pair of lamp holders and piercing the floor of the bottom case, are electrically connected with each pair of lamp holders. The contact terminals respectively supply the driving voltage, created from the inverters, to the lamp holder. |
