Invention relates to a method of operating a gas engine plant (1) comprising a combustion engine (3) adapted to be combust gaseous fuel and a fuel feeding system of the combustion engine with a source of fuel (2), the method being characterised in that heavier hydrocarbons in the fuel are cracked prior to feeding the fuel into the gas engine (3) in a reformer unit (14) provided in a fuel feeding system of the gas engine (3).
