Derivatives of R(+)-2-amino-3-hydroxypropanoic acid nitrogen substituted by a phenyl(C-C) alkenyl, gem-diphenyl(C-C)alkyl other than benzhydryl, gem-diphenyl(C-C)alkenyl, a phenyl(C-C)alkylidene or gem-diphenyl(C-C)alkylidene group, and the pharmaceutically-acceptable salts thereof for the preparation of medicaments that are intended for the treatment of diseases of the CNS due to reduced glycinergic transmission, such as for the treatment of autism, schizophrenia and Alzheimer's disease.
