An apparatus for selecting music is provided to recognize an image from a print having a music data list so as to select/play music from the list and check the music data before listening to music by transferring a signal to a music data play device. An apparatus(100) for selecting music comprises a data recognition part(110) and a music data generating signal part(120). The data recognition part recognizes the digital data, which is one music data of the music data list. The data recognition part includes an image acquisition device(111) such as a scanner, a digital camera, and an infrared camera to acquire an image, and a data processing part(112) for recognizing the digital data from the image. The image acquisition device recognizes the image from a print having the music data list. The music data generating signal part transfers a signal to a music data play device. An operating part(130) generates a control signal to transfer the control signal to the music data play device.
