A transmission apparatus and method thereof, and a reception apparatus and method thereof in a communication system are provided to reduce a time delay caused by physical channel mapping and data interleaving. A transmission apparatus includes a data interleaver(140), and a channel mapping unit(150). The data interleaver divides data into a plurality of data blocks, and then interleaves each of the divided data blocks. The channel mapping unit maps the interleaved data blocks to a physical channel. The physical channel has a combination of a plurality of symbols within a time domain and a plurality of sub carriers within a frequency domain. The data interleaver has a data divider(142), a plurality of block interleavers(1441~144n) and data concatenating unit(146). The data divider divides the data into the data blocks. The block interleavers interleave the data blocks, respectively. The data concatenating unit concatenates the interleaved data blocks. The interleaving time of a first interleaver among the block interleavers is overlapped with the interleaving time of a second interleaver among the block interleavers.
