FIELD: mechanics. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hand tools, namely to socket wrenches. A socket wrench is designed for screwing and unscrewing of a bolt or a nut with their head being characterised by a cylindrical side surface. One of the nut end faces and free end of the bolt head are fitted by a cylindrical hollow with its diametre exceeding the thread diametre of the bolt and the nut respectively, the hollow is aligned according to their axis forming a ring wall fitted by circumferentially equidistributed grooves which are step broadened in the lower part of their side walls. The wrench comprises a head with cylindrical side wall and a through opening coaxial to it and having the diametre exceeding the thread diametre of the bolt or the nut and forming a ring wall where teeth are made and the teeth width is less than the width of the upper parts of the bolt or nut grooves; the teeth are characterised by broadening in the lower part. ^ EFFECT: possibility to set the nut and bolt heads close to each other and to the walls and ledges thus reducing dimensions of the split joints, their thickness and weight. ^ 3 dwg
