PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire having excellent wet grip performance, in ABS braking. SOLUTION: In a first test piece extracted from new or unused tread rubber, hardness acquired on the basis of a type-A durometer hardness test of JIS K6253 at 20°C, is represented as H<SB>1</SB>. In a second test piece extracted from new or unused tread rubber, separated from the first test piece, and having a size of 100 mm in length×5 mm in width×2 mm in thickness, hardness at the center part of the second test piece acquired on the basis of an M method of JIS K6253, is represented as H<SB>2</SB>. After the acquisition of the H<SB>2</SB>, hardness H<SB>3</SB>at the center part of the second test piece after 100% elongation at 20°C and release of a tensile force is acquired based on the M method of JIS K6253. The pneumatic tire uses tread rubber satisfying expressions (I): 60≤H<SB>1</SB>≤75, and (II): H<SB>2</SB>-H<SB>3</SB>≥4. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
