The method involves associating consecutive body sections (40-44) with sectional blocks (50) based on thickness parameters (60) of the blocks, where thickness is defined by opacity size to be analyzed. A value of thickness of the blocks is determined for covering an opacity size range. An opacity detection algorithm is applied to the sectional blocks. An opacity representing attribute is provided to voxels of the blocks corresponding to detected opacity. The voxels having the attribute are visualized in a digital display volume produced from radiographic projections.
