PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust collecting adapter easily attachable and detachable irrespective of the position of a spindle head in the height direction. SOLUTION: In this dust collection adapter of an engraving device, a cutting tool is attached to a cutting tool attaching member, and an object to be engraved is cut by the cutting tool while moving the cutting tool attaching member relative to the object to be engraved. The dust collection adapter comprises: a first member having a first locking part locked to the cutting tool attaching member and a first holding part arranged continuously with the first locking part; a second member having a second locking part locked to the cutting tool attaching member and a second holding part arranged continuously with the second locking part which are formed generally symmetrically with the first member; a pivot shaft for detachably connecting the first member to the second member; and a biasing means for so biasing the first locking part of the first member and the second locking part of the second member as to be pressed against each other by imparting a biasing force to the first holding part of the first member and the second holding part of the second member.
