A user interface device in an image sensor-embedded LCD(Liquid Crystal Device) and a method thereof are provided to increase the convenience of usage by installing an image sensor at each of the pixels of a liquid crystal panel so as to use an LCD such as a touch pad or to execute pointing and remote input through a laser pointer. A user interface device in an image sensor-embedded LCD comprises an image sensor-embedded liquid crystal panel(31), an input data synchronization part(32), a luminance level detection part(33), and a system(35). The liquid crystal panel comprises image sensors which respectively are installed at pixels, and outputs scanning information for a document or an image or location information. The input data synchronization part executes a synchronization function in order to detect user interface information from scanning information which is inputted through each image sensor. The luminance level detection part detects an outstandingly high or low value among the luminance level values of the scanning input data inputted through the input data synchronization part. Based on a detected luminance level value, the system recognizes user interface information and executes an associated control function. |
