PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attachment structure of linear sensor and a printer, wherein the attachment position of the linear sensor is optimized. SOLUTION: The attachment structure of the linear sensor 52 in the printer 10 enables a carriage 21, to which a print head 28 for jetting ink droplets is attached, to slide along a carriage shaft 26. In the side close to the print head 28 rather than to the carriage shaft 26 in the discharge direction of the ink droplets, a sensor housing part 53 integrally formed with the carriage 21 is provided.
