Wireless communication system can use configuration of common pilot channel in channel assessment at one or more receivers establishing communication with the system. Receiver establishing communication with the system can be unable to demodulate received data due to incorrect channel assessment. Receiver can send request for additional channel assessment resources to a system transmitter. Wireless communication system can provide additional resources of channel assessment by inclusion of dedicated pilot channels to one or more frequencies selected for the receiver symbols.
