WELDING ASSISTING APPARATUS FOR RING PACKING FOR ROTARY DRUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding assisting apparatus for a ring packing of a rotary drum which assists a work of welding an end part of a long packing material at the time of attaching a ring packing to the side face of the rotary drum of a water squeezing apparatus for squeezing water from a slurry deposited on the surface of the rotary drum the surface of which is covered with a net by suction from the inside. SOLUTION: End parts of a long packing material 10 to be a material of a ring packing are held respectively by a pair of clips 12a and 12b. The clips 12b are attached to pushing side holding plates 13b and wing screws 20 are fastened to hold the end parts. A heater bloc 21 is inserted into the position between the held end parts to heat these end parts. In the state that the end parts are melted, a movable clip apparatus 11b is moved closer to a fixed clip apparatus 11a to stick the end faces each other and aging is carried out until the end faces are cured.
