EVAPORATOR AND AIR CONDITIONER FOR AN AUTOMOBILE

An evaporator and a vehicle air-conditioner using the same are provided to remove the gap between the evaporator and the air-conditioner case, formed by the inlet and outlet pipes, thereby preventing air leakage through the gap and improving the air-conditioner performance. An evaporator comprises a first header tank(10) and a second header tank(20) located apart from each other, an inlet pipe(30) and an outlet pipe(40) connected to the first header tank or the second header tank, a core unit(50) consisting of a plurality of tubes(51) forming a heat exchange media flow path and a fin(52) interposed between the tubes, side plates(60) equipped on either side of the core unit, and an attachment(70) fastened to one side of the side plate so that the flat part corresponding to the core unit is on the same plane as the outer sides of the inlet and outlet pipes. The attachment has a hooked part(72) fixed to a fixing groove(62) formed on a protrusion(61) of the side plate.
