摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical circuit which is superior in versatility and is proof against disturbance and to provide an evaluation device for the circuit. SOLUTION: An input optical waveguide 12, an optical coupler 13, an optical interference circuit 14, an optical coupler 15, an output optical waveguide 16 and a reference optical waveguide 17 are disposed on a substrate 11. When an optical path length in the longest optical path in paths from the input optical waveguide 12 to the output optical waveguide 16 through an optical interference circuit 14 is set to be L<SB>max</SB>, an optical path length in the shortest path in the paths from the input optical waveguide 12 to the optical interference circuit 14 through the output waveguide 16 to be L<SB>min</SB>, and an optical path length from the input optical waveguide 12 to the output optical waveguide 16 through the reference optical waveguide 17 to be L<SB>ref</SB>, they are set to satisfy a relation of (L<SB>max</SB>-L<SB>min</SB>)<(L<SB>min</SB>-L<SB>ref</SB>).
